Specs says will support 16GB.

Got 2x8 installed. The two empty slots look lonely. Will I or won't I benefit if I insert another 2x8 (for a total of 32GB)?

That board can only handle up to 16GB in total so you can't install more than the the 2 X8GB you already have. See here: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx...
