    .

Webutation score which used to be atop

the shield now skipped way to the right

    Zoom out did not help.

  • Win7 Media Player won't play HD Movie Clip (.mpg)?

Created video using Roxio Creator 2010.

    .

Finished and chose MPEG-2 High Definition 1080p.

    .

Saved as 2.16GB Movie Clip (.mpg) with:

    - Frame width 1920

    - Frame height 1080

    - Data rate 22000 kbps

    - Total bitrate 22256 kbps

    - Frame rate 29 fps

    .

Icon shows it should play via Windows Media Player (WMP).

When double-clicked, WMP launches and title shows in top

    left corner.

    .

    Then nothing.

    .

3rd party codec analyzer says "codec installed."

    .

Windows Movie Maker plays it in preview mode.

Saved as Movie Maker video (.mp4) but lost hi-def video.

    .

    Notes:

    Win7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM

    Window Update enabled

    .

    Assistance appreciated.

    .

    Thanks!

  • Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 max RAM?

    Specs says will support 16GB.

    .

Got 2x8 installed. The two empty slots look lonely. Will I or won't I benefit if I insert another 2x8 (for a total of 32GB)?

  • Recommendations/Reviews of Ginsu Chikara?

12-piece block set on sale for around $100.00. Consumer Reports (CR) gave it Best Buy but CR hardly mentions longevity in their reviews. Most products - even eventually crappy ones - work well new.

    .

    Adding to confusion:

Amazon claims "made in Japan." However, at this price point, pretty sure it's made in China.

OpenOffice Forum have some old (circa 2005) threads which, unfortunately, involve programming. Any simpler solutions out there?

  • Help! Just "built" first computer. Sort of. All fans turn. Lights On. Why no signal to monitor?

Tried DVI then VGA from video card (MSI N240GT) to monitor.

Monitor says, "DVI - No Signal" and "VGA - No Signal" respectively.

    .

Tried USB digital input to monitor from mobo's (Gigabyte 790 XTA UD4) I/O port.

    No joy.

    .

Of note - maybe - power & hard drive activity light both RED steady on CM 690 II Advanced case.

    .

    SATA hard drive & burner.

    .

So: Lights are on but nobody's home.

  • OK to "build" a PC without a case?

    Attempting first build.

    .

You know how it is - my preferred case not discounted yet (CoolerMaster 690 II Advanced).

    .

So, planning to cobble everything together sans case.

    .

    Any dangers?

    .

Will eventually stick everything inside a case of course.

  • 4GB DDR3 or 8GB DDR2?

Building my first rig mainly for gaming & video editing.

Using Athlon Phenom II 965 Black quad core.

Gigabyte 790 series mobo with USB 3.0 ports, Crossfire ready.

    Windows 7 64-bit.

    .

    OCZ made 4GB DDR3 (2 x 2GB) sticks Black Edition specifically for AM3 chips.

    Cost = $104.00

    .

    Crucial has 8GB DDR2 (4 x 2GB) 'value' sticks - plain, no heat spreaders.

    Cost = $150.00

    .

Did not go into the weeds of cas latencies, voltages, etc. Not interested in benchmark test results. Interested in what I can see on-screen with the naked eye.

    .

    Pros & Cons?

    .

    Assistance appreciated.

  • Please help me understand. Why would anyone get a 13th tattoo knowing it hurts his wife & child?

    People with tattoos please respond.

    .

This GED kid was lucky enough to be admitted into the military. They DON'T allow tattoos but recruitment pressures led them to waive the 12 tattoos he already has.

    .

He was told. He knows the consequences.

    .

Before shipping to boot camp, his new tattoos (Oh yeah, he got 3 more) were of course discovered during the physical exam.

    .

    So they discharged him.

    .

Help me understand: Why get a 13th tattoo knowing it will result in your new wife and new baby's continued poverty? She walks to work 5 miles per day. The baby appears malnourished.

    .

    Oh, and she's pregnant again!

    .

Please no "self-expression" or "individuality" answers - I get all those. Heck, I'm not even anti-tattoo - he's got 12!

    .

    It's that 13th one I don't understand.

    .

    Thanks.

    .

P.S. He works in a tattoo shop. After a short stint in a T-shirt silk screen shop. After a short stint at an electronics retailer. After a short stint in a fitness club. After a short stint with prepaid legal services.

  • Pretentious or Valid? Those who 'complain' steak knives with serrated tips TEAR the meat?

    Am I missing something?

    .

After all, we are talking about chunks of meat they're about to jam in their mouths to masticate!

    .

Or do they have kinship with those who say you MUST pour a martini 'just so' otherwise you'll BRUISE the martini!?

  • Some oppose proposed health care Public Option? Does the current All Private 'option' work?

VA (Veterans Administration) healthcare is one of the best yet cheapest providers out there. Of course, it's only for veterans.

    .

Public Option will provide similar services and savings to rest of country.

    .

This buying/bargaining power specifically opposed by drug companies during Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit debate.

    .

Their well-funded lobby - which bought services of a Republican former Congressman for $2,000,000.00 a year - ensured Medicare, unlike the VA, NOT ALLOWED TO BARGAIN down drug prices!
