any tips on writing a short story, about an astronaut?

First, decide what happens to him/her. Do they go into space, blowup, fail to qualify for the flight, kill another astronaut to get an opening, boink a NASA director to get a slot.

Next you do a back story on your main character. For a girl her homelife, early sexual expeeriences as in was she the good girl, the teen ****, honor roll student, science geek or a combination of all of therm. How did she get from high school to NASA?

Do not panic, do not panic. If you can write poetry good, and i could also be wrong, but you should be equipped to give you a subject without problems. Otherwise you could take a poem you fairly like and increase on the subject in a short story, even supposing it simplest offers with feelings. If it can be love, write a short story a few man expressing his love for a woman, even if it can be so simple as him providing flora to her randomly (which I feel is romantic). My brief stories are most often tremendously easy and short (as a rule a few half of page on MS word). I don't consider you are hopeless. You must find out what exactly is fallacious together with your short reviews, what you don't like, be more distinctive about how it's so boring, etc. Break it down and look at it. That will help. instead of giving you tips here is the story :-

scientists invented a time machine but it is unsafe to test it on earth (think of a reason as to why they couldn't do it on earth) so they decided to send 3 astronauts on the moon and test the machine there. when they reached on moon 2 astronauts were setting up the machine while the 3rd one was busy wearing a protective suit which is required while using the time machine . when they started the machine, it went out of control sucked the whole moon to a time when apes had not evolved into humans. as the other two astronauts didn't wear protective suits they died immediately. There were 2 moons at that times. The future moon had also come back in time. The future moon then crashed with the 1 of the 2 past moons and they turned into bits and crashed on the earth along with the astronaut but he survived as he was wearing the high tech protection suit. He was landed in a tropical area. one day while he was searching for food he saw an ape fighting with a sabretooth. The apes was about to be killed when the astronaut stepped in and saved him. The ape happened to be a leader of an ape clan. He then lived with the apes, he learned their language and started behaving like them. He fell in love with a female ape and they had babies and this is how apes slowly changed into humans.

Go to a nursery and ask one of the children. They have loads of ideas.

let your imagination flow if its fiction but if it is non fiction make sure you go a planet :D
