Floating Giant Ocean going LNG Tankers out of Canada.?

How many gallons of water from Lakes Michigan and Superior are needed to float LNG tankers out of Canada per Day. I read that the U.S. doesn't have a secure enough Eastern Seaboard port to fill these Tankers and that an agreement was reached with Canada to Float them out of their Harbor with water released from the Great Lakes.

That is funny. They are not talking about water in that sense. They are talking about depth of water. That depth is what is needed to ensure they do not run aground.

Source(s): You cannot fit a 10m ship through the St. Lawrence Seaway when it only has a depth of 9.5m.
