Is Faith related to Wisdom?

Many, many people feel they've become more religious as they got older. And since typically Wisdom comes with old age, does that mean that the two could be related?

I think the answer you are most likely to receive from unbelievers is that people come to faith when they see the ending of their own life growing nearer. And, in some ways that might be true. However, having said that, I would also like to say that living for a lot of years and watching man's answers to the problems of the world fail time after time due to our own sinful nature probably has more to do with coming to the point of seeking help from a higher power. Experience has shown me for example that mankind in general sees itself as the end all. Their focus is on the now and on immediate gratification and their trust is placed in devices of their own making...i.e. science, book technology etc.

I don't think you necessarily have to be wise however to have faith. I found in my own case anyway, that I gained a great deal of wisdom once I came to faith. Wisdom was the result, not the cause.

And many of us become less religious. Religion has no relationship to wisdom, though the believers would like to think otherwise.

I would imagine that since their age independence and rebellion is over they are now more open to the idea of a life after death and become more fragile physically and emotionally when all their attributes and loved ones start to disappear around them.

Absolutely. One has to live on the Earth for a while to realize there is more to life than meets the eye.And once you accept there are unseen forces at work, you tend to choose one religion or another.

And typically dementia, and simple degeneration of the brain, comes with old age.

Dog is faithful it is tamed.

Wolf is unfaithful and it is not tamed.

Dog is considered to be wiser than the wolf.

So buddy, if you are wise, start your day with a 'Good-Faith'.
