Minor hair loss on dog's nose?

My golden retriever mix has been experiencing minor hair loss around his nose. We thought it might be that he had just gotten bitten by my roommates dog while they were playing, because it started out as a small cut that we put neosporin on, but now it's grown in size and also appears to be affecting the other side of his snout too. I do plan on taking him to the vet asap, but won't be able to til Monday. So in the meantime, I was just interested to know if anyone had any ideas what could be causing it.

The skin where the hair was lost is bright pink, no sign of infection that I can tell. There does appear to be a very small patch of crusty skin on the other side of his snout though.

Any ideas?

Update:

I will say it looks NOTHING like mange or ringworm... I've seen both personally before. This is only affecting his nose. It's been that way for about a week and a half. Hasn't spread past his nose.

Maybe a zinc deficiency?

Update 2:

Thanks guys, like I said. I do intend on taking him to the vet asap. Also, when I said it's spread, it went from about a centimeter in length to maybe about a half an inch, if that. and parts of that still have hair, they're just really thin. It's a VERY small area and it's spread so slowly I almost didn't even notice it til I saw a small spot on the other side of the nose. It's right where the the hairy part of the snout actually meets the nose. It's one of those things if I wasn't looking for it after my dog and roommate's dog had been playing, I wouldn't have even noticed. >.<

Go to the vet.. it very well could be mange or ringworm... they can get ringworm from outside sniffing around and it usually starts somewhere on the head.... I'm not saying that's what it is but u need to get him to a vet asap it could be a skin disease as well. . These include sebaceous adenitis; vitiligo and zinc-responsive dermatosis (where the dog has trouble processing zinc). It could be anything and since its getting worse don't try to handle this yourself.

Although small dogs are relatively easy to bathe, going to the expense of taking your small dog to a high-volume salon can prove stressful for your dog, as the noise and activity levels may frighten him or her.Choosing to bathe your small dog at home is logistically easy and probably a whole lot kinder on your small dog's nerves. The ease of lifting and need only for a small bathing container mean that most small dog owners won't find it hard to bathe their dog in the home environment. Save your money and lower your small dog's anxiety levels by trying this at-home bathing method. At first, your dog might try to get out of the tub, but after a few times he/she will get used to it

Hair loss affects both men and women. Here are some natural remedies that can help boost hair growth: https://tinyurl.im/aH7tO While genetics plays a role, there are other factors, including: hormonal imbalances, an underactive thyroid gland, nutrient deficiencies and insufficient scalp circulation.
