I would say that Oolong is lot more common here, but even then it's not exactly popular. You would struggle to find either in your average shop

The very idea of a "funny" non-black tea is enough to make the average Briton confused and angry! Tea in the UK is almost universally English Breakfast or Assam or some blend that is pretty robust. Oolong is pretty uncommon, as are the other traditional non-black teas like lapsang souchong. People do buy them but they are a very niche market. However, the prevalence of Far Eastern restaurants in Britain has made Jasmine tea, if not popular, at least less threatening and I reckon that more people have tried Jasmine than Oolong.

Generally, Britons drink English Breakfast tea. When Britons ask if someone would like a cup of tea, they would mean English Breakfast. Brands include Tetley's and PG Tips.

Ooh I love a cuppa ! But must say twinings English breakfast gets my vote! I do like other more fragrant teas but I reckon the only way to start the day is with a good strong cup of breakfast tea!
