I, as a joke, went up the bar in a TGIF and ordered a beer (I'm 18). Can I get in trouble?

He asked for my ID, I gave it to him. He looked at it for 10 seconds, and said: "Get out! Tell the cops I said 'hi'". (I expected him to just say, "haha, nice try kid", but no. I left the restaurant with my friends, not thinking a thing about what he said.

Later I learned that you can actually get in big trouble for 'attempting' to buy alcohol, if you're under 21. Can he get me in trouble just by looking at my licence? Or do you think he said that just to scare me?

P.S. I have an MIP on my record, so anything like this, I'm pretty afraid of. :/

I guess since it's the law and he could get in really big trouble & maybe get shut down for selling alcohol to minors, he is serious about it.

I think you are ok as long as you don't try that again. I don't think he called the cops on you.

I think he would have to have a good memory and remember your name, and address or license/ID number to get you in trouble.

LmAo!!!! Talking about bars......... This gentleman from the wild wild west finished his drink and wentoutside to get on his horse ang go...... a while later he rushes in visibly md and screams...."who in tarnation painted my horses b@lls green????" There is a hushed silence in the bar as a big burly seemingly outlaw type says "I did, wanna make something out of it?" The gentleman smiles and says..."Nothing really, I just wanted to tell you that you missed a spot!"
