    OK, well...

Although political science courses like PPE don't require any subject in particular, it would be definitely to your advantage to do Economics, as the content you learn in it will be very relevant to the actual course, and most students would be studying it.

Not doing maths would be suicide to general career options after university, as it really helps open lots of paths if you have a good background i.e. finance, and seeing as you are conisdering further maths, maths a level itself should be chosen as well.

    So that's two options down...

From here, I can't really decide with you, but If I were you, I'd do History & Spanish. Here's why:

Doing a modern language at A level is really challenging, but it is incredibly rewarding and useful, especially at differentiating you from other people. MFLs are rarely taken at A level, and are declining, while other subjects are growing like the humanities, because they are so difficult. However you will need to work hard throughout the ENTIRE year, otherwise you will fall behind very quickly - it pretty much has the biggest gap between GCSE and A level - at the end you should be able to read a spanish book, and understand it without translating it to english first. However it is really helpful, and it will be the last opportunity in your life (probably) to become fluent in another language without going too much out of your way to do so..

History - Well for pollitical science, it would be useful to do a heavy essay-based subject, and of course the content is somewhat relevant, much more than say Biology. Also Biology has quite a large workload, as you need to recall lots of facts, much more than at GCSE.

Then it's whether you should take further maths. You should only take it if you are really confident in maths i.e. your teacher supports you taking it (so discuss it with them), as it is much more difficult than normal maths, although again it's very rewarding, and the extra a-level is probably worth it in the end, as the content itself isn't a lot, it's just the thinking and getting high marks in the exam that is difficult for further maths.

    Have fun!!!
