My sister keeps copying me.?
The worst part is, she keeps saying she found the stuff I told her about, or that she was like that first. For instance, I've always been a tomboy. When I was little, my favorite color was blue, I loved cats, bats, rats, I kept spiders as pets, I loved to play with snakes, and halloween was my favorite holiday. Then one day she started saying SHE was a tomboy, and I copied HER. After that, she stole my favorite books, my clothing styles, and my music. I really hate when people do this, my best friend as a child recently left me all alone with no friends because she said I wasn't as cool as her. I listened to rock, screamo, and metal music. Now, all she listens to is rock, screamo, and metal music, along with a combination of "hipster" ripoffs of such music. She critiques my music choices, saying I have less knowledge than her. I worry these people will steal everything I ever do. I fear for my personality, that it is to be stolen from me. My PERSONALITY. How do I let them know that this kind of behavior is seriously ****** up? My sister is twelve, my friend is fourteen, I'm thirteen. Please help me!
The main thing is they say THEY told ME about the stuff. That's the part that pisses me off. I could give a flying rats *** about the copying, but it's saying they told ME.

its weird but shes your sister. she looks up to as a role model. im 16 and my sister is 12. she copys everything i do and wear. but at the same time its a great feeling knowing you have an impact on your little sister. shes young and still doesnt know what she likes. as she gets older she'll know but for now shes figuring herself out. give it time.

1- your little sister is close enough to your age that she sees what you are, who you are, and your motives with relative ease. That being said, she's still a younger sister, and probably looks up to you. I'd say talk to her about it - but do not attack. Little siblings, especially when closer in age to you, and in the tween years, can perceive people's annoyance as outright anger, and I'm pretty sure that's not what you want. Just sit her down, and tell her nicely but firmly to cut it out.
2- Your ex-friend is not a very good person. Doing something like that, while typical of your age group, is hurtful and immature. She's not worth your effort anymore I think, until she realizes how lame she's being. Since that may not be for a while yet, try reaching out to other kids nearby who show interest in the same things as you. Find other metalheads in school, or try going to an out-of-school community center and looking for people who do the same tomboyish things as you.
When people in this age group realize whatever you're doing is working, they want to do it too. Everyone at this point wants to be cool, and fit in, and make life easier. That may never change for some people. But when it comes to stealing ideas, I know it can be annoying but you have to just realize that they want to be like you, and not look like "copycats" at the same time. So as long as you can listen to your music and be a tomboy, don't let them get to you. You still have the things you love.

Never be afraid to be who you are, if they want to be a draft copy of you then let them go ahead. You're sister is just looking up to you, remember you're like a role model to her. One day people who are copying you will soon or later get tired of it because it's not truly them. Just live your life and have fun, don't waste your time worrying about others. Btw, your best friend 'as a child' isn't worth it, go find new friends if you haven't already!
Hope this helps :) x

My brother does the same thing. I'd help you if I could but I've got the same problem.
