It's good if you like to think. From a technical standpoint it's brilliant, but from an entertainment/commercial standpoint it's not for everyone. Personally I found it fascinating but it took me multiple viewings to fully interpret it. You can tell a great film by the fact that everyone will interpret it entirely differently. It features 3 great lead performances, particularly by Joaquin Phoenix, but the story is more a matter of style than substance, and so will catch casual viewers off-guard. I recommend it only to enthusiasts of film or those with very open minds.
