Emergency HELP, possibly (definitely) dead peace lily!?
I asked a question about this right before we left to go to another state for our wedding and consequent honeymoon. Unfortunately with all the excitement (read stress) I completely forgot to make any arrangements at all for our indoor peace lily. Two weeks later I'm home and it's...I guess dead. It's completely drooped over the edges of its pot.
I know it's just a plant but...someone gave it to us when my husband's 21 year old brother died in a car accident 2 months before our wedding. So I would just really like some guidance.
Can it be salvaged? Can I do like I would to an outdoor plant that gets ill, and cut most of it down pretty short?
Please...any suggestions, even if it's a far-fetched chance...

Try soaking the plant in water for a few hours, leave it to drain then see if it recovers.
If that fails,dead is dead.

Two good answers, and this site below will give more detailed information on how to care for your peace lily. There is still hope to revive it and help it thrive since it is a" bulb" type plant.
