Is liquid nitrogen controlled in Canada? How about Dry Ice?
I was watching a cooking show earlier this week, and some of the recipes called for liquid nitrogen (like dry freezing a banana). On a different show, they were putting together a Halloween party, with a punch bowl placed in a cauldron of dry ice (looked really cool). Both these shows are American, which leaves me wondering if these are "Controlled Substances" (or some other category) here in Canada, Specifically Ontario?
For anyone looking for a better answer: It is not controlled, but trying to find Liquid Nitrogen in the GTA area that will sell to the general public has not been successful. Dry Ice is also not controlled, and you can walk into the following to buy it (they also ship to anywhere in Canada: according to their website) http://dryiceandgases.com/index.htm
10 Points if anyone can find anywhere in GTA for Nitrogen :P

.Dry Ice shouldn't be. Besides the extreme risk of freezing your fingers and getting major Frost bite, and the occasional use of making Dry ice bombs there is no reason that it would be a controlled substance. I can run up and buy some from my local Grocery store.
