question about buying a florida condo with cash?

i plan to travel to tampa, fl next month and hopefully buy a condo while i am there. will i need the assistance of a an attorney? should i be concerned about leans of the property, unpaid taxes, unpaid mortgages, the financial health of the condo association? i plan to spend about $75,000.

    While I don't discourage consulting with an attorney, what's he/she going to do? Realtors in Florida should be using the contract form approved by the Florida Bar. Title insurance will cover you for any unpaid liens, taxes, etc. As far as the health of the condo association, your purchase contract should permit you time to review and approve the condo docs.

    If you don't have an attorney at least buy a condo that is listed by a reputable realtor. They will arrange the closing at a title company.

    Not having an attorney is not a good idea.

    Yes, you should have an attorney to draw of the proper papers and protect your interests, an inspector to check the integrity of the property and title insurance to assure that there are no liens against the property.

    Yes...get an attorney...doesn't matter if you pay cash or take out a mortgage...each of the things you list can be a concern regardless or your method of payment.
