Go to the Disneyland website and check out their "good neighbor" hotels.

There's a Motel 6 close to Disney in Anaheim, it would probably be the least expensive lodgings in the area.

The answer to this always depend on what your idea of "Cheap" is?
In general the cheaper the hotel the less likely that they will be "good". You can get a Motel 6 Motel(Anaheim Maingate) a couple of blocks away from Disneyland for usually under $100/night, and if you go in the off-season mid-week you can probably get it for around $60/night.
An hour away is a huge spread, even if there is traffic. You could probably find motels for under $50/night but you may not want to go into these rooms without a full bio-suit.
If you are trying to save money you need to consider ALL of your costs, and may not want to get the cheapest possible room regardless of distance. Say you are 50 miles away, with an average car that is just about 3-4 gallons of gas round trip. Right now with gas in the $4.50 range you are looking at around $13.50-$18 a day extra in gas. If you are close to Disney you won't have to pay for parking where farther way you will need to park for another $15/day. So by trying to save some money going farther away you are already down about another $30/day, not to mention the extra time you are wasting in the commute.
EDIT: On the higher end of that budget one of the better hotels is the Howard Johnson. It is about a 10 minute walk from the Main Entrance, and is probably the best hotel within a reasonable walking distance.
For other hotels since you already looked at the site you saw which ones would meet your price range for the days you are wanting to stay, so perhaps if you have others in mind you can come back and give specific names.

I think I answered on another section you posted this in, but just in case...
The Marriott Fairfield Inn is great, and depending on the time of year will fit into your budget. It's a nice hotel and is right across the street from the entrance to the resort -- you can even see fireworks from the balconies! This also makes it easy to walk to, and you don't have to worry about waiting for or paying for transportation to and from the parks, or walking far with sleepy children in the evening.
Marriotts have a reputation for being safe and clean, and when I've stayed here it was around $110-$120ish per night. Depending on the time of year and whether it's a weekend or weekday I'm sure it fluctuates, but they have discounts for AAA members that can save you $10 or so, and a few other groups.

On the Disneyland website, under places to stay, there should be a tab for "Good Neighbor Hotels". Most of them are within walking distance, and the website gives you all the details, pros and cons of each one, etc.

Well all of the resorts actually IN disneyland are ordinarilly the identical and are absolutely more expensive than the ones external. Those surrounding disneyland are all in regards to the identical cost as every different. Clearly the additional you're from the park, the cheaper the motel shall be.
