Salem MA for Halloween?

My best friend and I are taking a day/evening trip to Salem for my birthday/halloween on Friday. We're both 16/17 so how should we go about doing this? Things to do, places to see, etc.? We have no idea what to expect. Thanks in advance!

Salam is crowded during halloween, so you better plan everything early. There is nothing but bumper to bumper traffic all the way there. I use to leave for work an hour early because the traffic was so bad on 128 I would be late, and I wasnt even going to Salem! Take the purple line there, that would save you the crap of trying to find a place to park. Expect long lines.

If you want to spend the night, book a room today, don't wait because those rooms will be gone fast. I remember people coming to my work asking where to find a motel since they went to salem and found everything booked. People were going all the way down to Malden for a place to sleep, then drive back up to salem or would go to Malden center and take the purple line.

holy crap it will be crazy

    everything will be packed

check out all the witch stuff (there are like 4 with museums and a witch memorial)

    ghost tours

    Peabody Essex Museum

The Historic site run by the Park Service

yeah and like the other person sais, take the commuter rail in from Boston, because if you are not wicked early or you will not find a place to put the car.

The commuter rail will drop you off right outide the touristy section of town

I recommend the "Spirit of the Gables" and the ghost stories at the Witch's House. Get reservations in advance to the Witch's House ghost stories.

    Park at the Commuter Rail.

There will be lots of stores, and lots of gimicky tourist junk.
