What do Christians think of this BBC documentary about the CATHOLIC Church?

The history of the Catholic church is a total mystery to me - if any other organization had such a past it would simply have to be dissolve (no absolved, dissolved), its wealth returned to those it was stolen from (like the Art treasures confiscated by the Nazis) and relegated to the darkest depths of mankinds past.

Some of the Catholics I know are some of the best Christians I know. I realize the Catholic Church in the past did some really corrupt things, but they aren't like that now. This is why each Christian has a responsibility to seek God himself by reading and meditating on the Bible, praying and having a personal relationship with the Lord. We should all learn from these experiences, so we won't be misled.

I'm unable to see this video Terry. But the history of the catholic church is not unknown to most people, though many catholics are in denial. Let's add the Inquisition to this, shall we?

I watched it all, the catholic church is a lie onto its self just like Christopher Columbus was!

There is a reggae song that calls "Christopher Columbus a blasted liar" Due to him docking in the caribbean & thinking it was india, so he called it the west indies.

Most of history is written by the victors & powerful people of their time, the only history that is accurately preserved weather in favour or not of the writers or powerful people of that era is the history of biblical events as God himself see's to it that we get the truth.

I don't know much about Catholic church but the bible calls it the great harlot in Revelation

The entire chapter of Matthew 23 is good reading. When I was a child I remember the congregation being told a special collection plate was being passed for donations for the conversion of Russia. What a load of barnyard refuse. I was surprised how many bought that claim.

I have not seen this video and have no interest in it as I fully believe your statement about it, but how different is it to the Watchtower magazine advertising magic wheat at very excessive prices [because it was supposed to be magic] to increase the wealth of the then FDS Russell?

You have pointed out on many occasions that the Christians are not like the JW's and don't all agree about everything. Most Christians would be totally against these few Catholics behaving in this way but every JW's was to not only agree with the sale of the magic wheat they were to support it.

The WBT$ changes their teachings so often that they needed to ensure that the other sheep believe every new change so they wrote.......

Thanks Terry, in Australia we get BBC on the ABC and they are watched by everyone. There is a lot of respect for BBC docos.
