How long should a protein rich diet continue?

For a few months now I have been replacing lunch with a protein meal replacement along with some fruit and crackers so I don't starve by the end of the work day. If I'm really busy I will snack on a few strawberries or something so I don't get dizzy. And for dinner I would have, for example, a vegetable soup, salad, and snack before 8 pm. After that I would drink only water and green tea. My weight seems to be managing ok but I am trying to lose these last stubborn 10 pounds. I was suggested that I try to drink a protein shake for dinner as well to see if things change. I've tried it for a few days but I kinda miss eating real food ( i mean seriously the only real thing I eat is eggs for breakfast). How long should I continue the protein before gradually getting back to real foods for dinner.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

    No no.. your problem is your lack of carbs. Eating too much protein is pointless. You need carbs for energy, and since 1 gram of carbs has the same amount of calories as 1 gram of protein, you are better off getting carbs. When you dont eat enough carbs, your body stresses out and begins to store extra fat and slows down metabolism, which is probably why you cant get rid of your last 10 lbs. As long as you get your carbs from nutritious foods such as fruit and veges and rice, you can eat as much as you like and not have to worry. Eat 10 bananas a day, hell, eat 20. It will give you more energy and speed your metabolism. Try not to eat too many eggs. You are best off eating most your carbs early in the day, although veges and lean meat is fine for dinner. Drink lots of water too. And try to do some exercise. Forget protein, think carbs, healthy carbs and you will look great and feel much better.
