how do handle a large but tame tegu?

Hey jawden your contact list was closed and I couldnt message you lol.... but you should never try grabbing it from the front, as if they choose to, they may bite. However, if you go from the back (making sure he sees you go to the back, to not scare him when you grab him) you can move if he tries to snap. But i would use protectvie gear like very thick gardening mits, however it will sill hurt if he bites you, but not as bad without them. There's no real way to handle something that will bite. Just stay away from the mouth area and try petting him slowly from the back so he can get acustom to you......
