When an "!atheist" replies "which god" to a question, does that mean they are at last?
ready to move on in their thinking?
Most do not seem to realize that this glib "non answer" is actually a MAJOR concession to make.

When you talk to a person that knows that there has never been such a thing as a god, the answer that you get will be, what choice of god do you believe in, this is because over thousands of years humans have made up and believed in thousands of different gods, you have the choice of gods from faiths such as the Aztec, Babylonian, Canaanite, Celtic, Chinese Egyptian, Greek, Hindu, Maya, Norse, Roman, Sumerian and many others, some of these faiths have many gods to worship, if there is only one god that is worshipped today, there is even a lot of confusion over that one, with a few different faiths having different idea`s about how their chosen god should be worshipped and what is accepted, desired, or forbidden, in other words, it is all a totally confusing lists of different beliefs but they all have one thing in common, the leading people in all religions past and present, use the belief in a god to control the minds of the people that they keep trapped in the same belief, remember though, each person that believed that his/her god actually existed had exactly the same trust that this was a truth as you do, I have given a link that gives a list of all known gods that have been invented by man if you are interested.

There are no Gods, gods, or devils in the eyes of a true Atheist.
Atheism is the total and logical belief that there cannot be a deity as we all stand alone in the universe are born and then die as any other animal.
It's the fact that we all die that is the sticking point, for a believer can be manipulated into excepting any fate that people in power wish to place them under so long as they believe that the so called hereafter is a better place they will perform as required by their masters... that is their choice and I defend their right to that choice whilst I revel in the freedom and liberty of mind to get on with my life until it meets it's natural end.
I believe;
The devil is a myth.
God is a myth.
sourcery is a myth.
Reality is now.

You know which realisation you should have? That you're dismissing the gods of others as false when it suits you, and enlisting them for your cause when you post one of your appeal to popularity fallacies. I'm not sure whether you're intentionally dishonest or just an ignorant tool. I suspect the latter with hints of the former.
And unlike you, I have no problems considering hypothetical situations, I'm aware of many different god-claims. None come with any evidence. So I'm not sure which "major concession" you think that is.

No, it's meant to point out the egocentric thinking of the people who think their god is the only one atheists don't believe in, and who say stupid nonsense like "atheists just hate God" or "atheists are only atheists because they don't want to obey God's Word". They always presume it's all about their god when we don't believe in any of the thousands of gods humans have made up across the course of history.

I'm always open to the idea that there 'might' be a God/s, but when I ask people "which God?" It normally means just that, which God?
All the different religions have different God/s and if you don't believe in One and Only One God, this can get confusing.

It's not a concession, you putz, it's meant to point out the huge numbers of gods that are rarely acknowledged by anyone as existing merely due to arbitrary circumstances. Why ask about this god's plan when you could be asking about another?
- lainiebskyLv 79 years ago
No, it isn't. It's an attempt to get the person who has asked a hypothetical question about "god" to realize that his own god is not the only one that was ever believed in.

Actually I guess you just don't understand that it's a subtle way of pointing out that mankind has created hundreds....no, more like thousands of "gods" throughout its history. And that whatever god or gods you happen to believe in are just one or more on this long list of myth and legend. And also it tends to point out that not even all theists share your point of view. Most theists in the world think you are just as crazy as atheists do because they think you worship a "false god" just like you think that they do.

consistent with risk we could continually no longer point out it on Yahoo solutions, yet there is an exceptionally nicely-time-honored cyber web seek engine that is going by using the call of Google. some human beings use this as a verb, i.e. to apply the seek engine to hit upon something on the cyber web. Disclaimer: different nicely-time-honored seek engines are additionally attainable!

They're pointing out the ethnocentric bigotry of the person referring to god when there are billions of people who believe in a different god than the speaker, so they need to specify.
