What is my Biology teacher asking?
My teacher had to take personal leave for a week and he gets back the day my paper is due. I can't ask him to clarify what he is asking so I decided to come here and ask you guys so I can get a better idea. I feel embarrassed to ask for a better understanding of what he wants but I thought I would do it anyways. I don't know of any other sources to get current biology events besides the internet, nor do I understand what me means when he says brings them all together in a coherent fashion. Please dull all this down for me so I can better understand and also where I would get biology events other than the internet so I can start on this today please.
"You will write a paper that includes a discussion of current biological events. You will be expected to find four biology related articles and write a 2-4 page paper which brings them all together in a coherent fashion. Only one can be from the internet. One or two paragraphs should provide a synopsis of the article but NOT a regurgitation or cut and paste of the author’s words. One paragraph should tie all the articles together and a final paragraph or two should be your reflection of how this topic applies to your life, can help society, is a bad idea, should be outlawed or whatever you feel passionate about regarding the subject.
Your write-up and a works cited page must be in APA or MLA format (all typed, double spaced, size 12 font, 1 inch margins). The completed portfolio is due as indicated in the schedule at the start of class. Late portfolios will be penalized 20% for each day late with the due date counting as the first day. Points will be deducted for poor grammar, spelling, and punctuation." - My Teacher

Non internet sources are fact books (go to the library) and science magasines such as scientific american, newscientist, biological sciences review etc.
You may be able to acces the magasines online, and in this case it would not count as "being from the internet" as it is a printed magasine, you could even pretend that you have a printed copy.
Synopsis means summary
"works cited page" means a page where you state all the places you got your information from, including URL and date accessed for the internet resource and full title, authors and page numbers of the non internet resources.
So basically, what you have to do, is find 4 articles on something recent that is biology related, like stem cells or whatever you're interested in and write your own article using the information you found.

Perhaps your teacher wants you to read newspapers and magazines? Try the New York Times, the Washington Post, or your local newspaper. And for magazines, try Time, National Geographic, Smithsonian, Popular Science, Scientific American, or magazines related to health/ food.
"Tying the articles together" means discussing how they are similar, what they have in common. This doesn't mean they all have to be on the same exact thing, just that you should be able to find a common thread.

Certainly, that you would be able to be very adept at biology, and still have doubts about evolution. (as a minimum in the best way that evolutionists have framed the argument) creationists don't seem to be ignorant about biology; they with ease have one more view of its origins. In my opinion, i try to keep an open intellect. We can in no way recognize the truth until we are able to journey back in time, and watch it all occur.
