I'm looking for a dancehall song. The riddim was sleng teng and the lyrics had the words Ruff and Rugged.?
I heard this song during the DJ Red Alert Propmaster Dancehall show back in 1989 or 1990.The station was 98.7KISS FM. I lost my tape when I was in the military. The singer had a deep voice like Super Cat or Nicodemis. It was in New York City when I recorded it around December of 1989. Can't find Super Cat or Nicodemis version of it anywhere. If anyone listened and recorded the show between 1988 and December of 1989 it would help. Thanks.

All I can find is rough and rugged by shinehead but its the "zunguzung" riddim rather than sleng teng (I know that riddim has been out before yellowman but I don't know what it's called lol). 

Could it maybe be that song played over a sleng teng just for the radio show. Sorry I'm unfamiliar with that's station (I was born in 87).

I would also go for Shinehead. He is/was also based in New York. He has a versatile voice he can both sing and deejay.
