1. Why there is higher clock speed offered usually in dual core than quad core such as (2.9 ghz dual core in macbook air or 2.3 ghz quad core in macbook pro)

Because a quad core can handle data at a lower clock whereas a dual core needs a higher clock to process the same data.
Quad cores are better than Dual cores in multitasking and in multithreaded programs.
