This or That: Greek Mythology Baby Names?

~ Artemis.

Besides sounding better, I like this goddess more than Athena. I do like the Spanish for Athena, which is Atenea.

~ Persephone.

Odd and very uncommon name that has always been on my GP list of names. I really like it and would consider using. I've always thought that Sandra Persephone sounds good.

~ Hera.

This is also one of my favorite names, and I actually like that name enough to use it on a daughter, as I don't think it's too 'out there'.

~ Pandora.

I love Phoebe, sounds really sweet and all, but Pandora has that strong sound that I can't avoid loving.

~ Calliope.

Such a musical name can't be ignored! I like it. Clio is nice, but it's not a name I like. For me it seems to nickname-y.

~ Iole.

Love it! Besides, I don't really like Iris. Iole sounds a bit odd, but still it's pretty. Still, I think of it as a nickname to Iolanhte.

~ Evadne.

I've been hearing of lots of baby boys named Echo lately, that now I think of it as a boy name. I love it on a girl, but Evadne has an allure and mystery that make me like it.

~ Asteria.

It has a strong sound, but still very feminine. I like it, but it's not my favorite name.

~ Medea.

Besides the fact that I wouldn't dare using the name Medusa on a girl (I seem to have very frizzy heir that I'll probably inherit to any daughter I could have), I love the sound of Medea. It's feminine and musical.

~ Andromeda.

I've always loved astronomical names! Andromeda it's one of my favorites too, and I don't like Ariadne at all.

~ Hyperion.

I don't know, but I think I like this name because it sounds strong and masculine. Hades is cool and I like it too, but Hyperion sounds better.

~ Orion.

While this is a relatively common name, I like it a lot. Again, it's astronomical too, so that gives it points with me (:

~ Perseus.

Definitely. I love it. It may be because of my recent addiction to all things Percy Jackson, but Perseus has grown on me and I love it.

~ Ares.

The God of War would surely have a strong sounding name, and I love that.

~ Achilles.

I actually know someone named Aquiles. Same name, different spellings. Ajax is not really a name I like. It makes me think of an old man.

~ Zeus.

What name could possible evoke more strength than the name of the father of the gods? I like Zephyr, but between these names, I prefer Zeus.

~ Morpheus.

It makes me laugh because I picture a kid who will always be sleepy.. But it definitely sounds better than Midas, which sounds more like a girl name.

~ Evander.

This has always been one of my favorite names! I love the sound of it. I don't like Eros at all.

~ Argus.

Adonis is not a name I could like. Ever. Sounds too girly in my opinion.

~ Paris.

I've always thought of this name as a good one, even if I don't really like it.

5. ♀ Calliope (kal EYE oh pee) or Clio? Calliope, I don't particularly like it, but I would use the nickname Poppy.

6. ♀ Iris or Iole (eye OH lee)? Iris, I just like it better.

7. ♀ Echo or Evadne (ev AHD nee)? Evadne, though I don't really like either.

8. ♀ Asteria or Aphrodite (aff roh DITE ee)? Asteria, because there are better nickname options.

9. ♀ Medea or Medusa? Medea, it just sounds prettier!

10. ♀ Andromeda or Ariadne (ah ree AHD nee)? Ariadne, I love the nickname Ari.

Boys:

1. ♂ Hades (HAY deez) or Hyperion? Hyperion. I have an inside joke with a friend about Hades, so yeah.

2. ♂ Orion (oh RY an) or Odysseus (oh DISS ee us)? Orion, it's a lot more usable.

3. ♂ Perseus or Poseidon? Perseus, I don't like either at all but Poseidon reminds me of Poison.

4. ♂ Apollo or Ares (AIR eez)? Ares, not sure why.

5. ♂ Achilles (ah KILL eez) or Ajax? Achilles, because in Aus we have 'Ajax Spray and Wipe'.

6. ♂ Zephyr (ZEFF er) or Zeus? Zephyr, I guess it seems more usable.

7. ♂ Midas or Morpheus? Midas, just cause.

8. ♂ Eros or Evander? Evander, I actually love this one!

9. ♂ Adonis or Argus? Adonis, because Argus reminds me of Argus Filch form HP.

10. ♂ Pallas or Paris? Pallas, because I think of Paris as a girls name.
