You may have it, even if your spelling isn't that bad. You just might be slightly affected by it, which is not that bad. Even though it doesn't seem too severe, it does lead to problems. Dyslexia is a learning disability, where a person reads letters backwards. For example: a person with dyslexia with dyslexia may read the letter "b" as "d", which the b was read as d or they may read the letter "M" as "W", which the letter "M" was read as "W". That's how a dyslexic read letters. Now dyslexics may read the word "Saw" as "Was", which means that they spelled the word backwards. People with dyslexia stutter when they read. People with dyslexia CAN be good at math, but some might read letters backwards as well. For example: there's this math learning disability called "Dyscalculia", which is sort of like math dyslexia. But here are the symptoms:

    following signs and symptoms:

    *A late talker

    *Pronunciation problems

    *Difficulty rhyming words

*Impaired ability to learn basics such as the alphabet, colors, and numbers

*Problems with handwriting and other fine motor skills

*Confusing letters such as "b" and "d" or the orders of letters within words

*Trouble learning the connection between letters and their sounds

*An estimated 25% of people with dyslexia also show signs of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

In older children or adults with dyslexia, these other signs may appear:

*Trouble with reading, writing, and spelling

    *Ongoing trouble with schoolwork

    *Difficulty learning a foreign language

    *Poor handwriting

    *Difficulty remembering numbers

*Trouble following a sequence of directions and telling left from right

Remember, just because you have dyslexia doesn't mean that you can't or won't be successful. You can! In fact, Albert Einstein, one of the successful and smartest person in the world, was thought to have dyslexia. Hestruggledd academically and socially as a child. But when he scored the highest on a college entrance exam in physics, he pursued a career in physics and became very successful after graduating college for many years. People with dyslexia are smart. In fact, you must have an average or above average IQ to be diagnosed. IQ is not measured in academic stability. Just because you have an average IQ oe above does not mean you can't struggle academically. Many people with dyslexia can pursuit great careers. In fact, many went on to become doctors, lawyers, surgeons, and even teachers. Don't let you're disability take over your life. You may have it, IF you read words backwards or numbers sometimes get jumbled up together in your brain. If you attend a public school, the school psychologist can diagnose you with a specific learning disability. Ask your parents for help getting tested for it. Your school can refer you to a psychologist who can do this.
