Vacuuming in Dorm Room?

How early is it socially acceptable to vacuum in a dorm room. I do realize that the acceptable vacuuming time-frame will be different on the weekends from that of the weekdays. Now I like to get my cleaning done before class on the weekdays and before work on the weekends. So, I was wondering if it is acceptable to vacuum as early as 8a on weekdays and 10a on weekends? Our residence halls have "quiet hours" from 10p to 8a on "school nights" (nights before days that the school allows class the next day on) and from 12a to 10a on "other nights." In other words, quiet hours end at 8a Mon-Fri and at 10a Sat and Sun.

So, what I'm curious about is whether it is acceptable to vacuum as early as 8a Mon-Fri and 10a Sat and Sun, or if there's an unwritten social convention that prohibits vacuuming until a different time. thank you. :)

Update:

Thanks, Trevor, that'll probably work (after my first class and before my second :) ).

And, I should probably state that I don't have a roommate.

Oh, and firefly, that really didn't answer my question of when it /IS/ appropriate to vacuum, I really don't want to be a bother, but I have to get it done in the morning, hence my asking. I come from a family of early risers, and I know most people don't get up as early as I do (4am). I have straight A's and am on the school's Equestrian team, but I do allow 15 minutes to vacuum every day (really doesn't even take that long). You do sound really passionate about respecting others' sleeping habits, though.

You might be a chirpy morning lark, but many college students are night owls who snooze in until their first class of the day, so I would avoid vacuuming before 10AM during the week. Since a lot of people stay out very late on Friday and Saturday nights, I'd refrain from doing anything noisy in your room before noon on the weekend, and possibly even later. Some of my friends sleep until one on Sundays!

I live in a single room in my sorority house, so I also don't have to worry about disturbing a roommate, but I do have to consider the sleeping and studying hours of the other girls.

I vacuum a few times a week to help minimize my allergies, and I try to synchronize it with the janitorial staff who clean the common areas. Is there a cleaning crew that vacuums the hallways and the common rooms of your dorm? If so, try to do your vacuuming at the same time they're cleaning. That way, the bulk of the noise is contained to that time period. If you have a class then, I'd try to vacuum either in the late morning or in the afternoon when the majority of people will be awake and in class or activities and not yet buckled down to study for the night. I usually vacuum and clean up my room before my late afternoon run, and I've never had any complaints or received any annoyed looks from anyone in my house then. A dorm room is so small you can usually vacuum it in the span of a song or two, so really it shouldn't cause a major issue as long as it's not at time when you're likely to wake someone up.

Regardless of when the designated quiet hours are in your dorm, vacuuming that early is going to piss a lot of people off. Vacuuming that early every single day is probably going to get you a meeting with your RA. Yes, quiet hours are between 10 and 8/12 and 10. That doesn't mean that you can do whatever the hell you want immediately after quiet hours are over. Vacuums are loud, dorm walls are paper thin, and you're probably going to have a roommate. If you wouldn't want to be woken up by a vacuum when you're desperately trying to sleep in, don't wake other people up. Also, if you have time to vacuum more than once a week, you probably need to spend more time studying or join a club. I'm serious on this one. There's really no need to vacuum your room more than once a week.

i assume a hand vacuum could be the finest ingredient. have faith me, you're unlikely to make your innovations up on an incredibly vacuum sitting around in a dorm room. it is going to absorb too plenty area. I keep in mind once I lived in a dorm my floor merely had an area vacuum interior the appliance closet that all and sundry might desire to apply. Your development probable has something like that.

Frankly, I wouldn't vacuum before noon. Ever. Especially on weekends.
