I'm not sure, but if I had to take a guess I would say that Eternal means no begining and no end, whereas everlasting just means no end independently of whether it had a begining or not.
For example, the concept of soul is everlasting, they were created once but they have no end.
The concept of God is eternal for He was always there and He will always be, no creation happened to Him.
Anyway that is just my opinion, hope this helps.

Eternal means that a thing had no beginning as well as no end. Everlasting means that a thing had a beginning, but does not end.

Look them both up according to Biblical context. Use a Hebrew/Greek lexicon for exact comparisons. Strong's Concordance also helps.

perhaps eternal has no beginning and everlasting does? just a guess. i'm not a theologian.
