Talking about Mitt's lies in his "auto industry" ad - aren't we missing the point, entirely?
Yes, the ad campaign almost seems like a parody of an ad, it's so full of lies, innuendo and fear mongering. However, Mitt has spent the past five months trying to claim credit for the auto industry bail-out. Doesn't that mean that Mitt is now attacking himself in his own ads?
Sorry, "No Ma'am", but you have it wrong. When Bush did bailout money to the auto industry, it was a no-strings attached deal. They asked for more bailout money, and Obama told them he would not do it unless they had a restructuring plan.
Whether they would go through bankruptcy or not was never the issue. Mitt Romney said the government should stay out, and let private investors shore them up so they can emerge from bankruptcy. The problem is, since no private investors were willing to do so, that would mean the companies would be dissolved and never emerge from bankruptcy. What the government did was step in as the post-bankruptcy investors, which is not what Mitt wanted to do, at all.
You also missed the entire point - Romney HAS been saying that the bailouts under Obama are exactly what he said should happen. He famously said "I'll take credit for that." If that's true, then the latest attack ads, where they blame Obama for "forcing&q

Romney said they need to restructure via bankruptcy and that's exactly what happened.
If you recall, the bailouts were originally to avoid bankruptcy.
They failed as bankruptcy turned out to be inevitable.
