Need help to solve a quadratic equation by factorizing?
So an example of what I am talking about would be:
X^2 - 6X + 9 = 0
(X-3)^2 = 0
X =3
But what happens when the "A" in ax^2 is more than 1?
Such as in:
3x^2 - 14x - 5 = 0
I'm stumped and I can't find it on the internet!

Determine what two numbers when multiplied together = -5; Take one of those two factors and multiply it by three and multiply the second factor by one; Algebraically, add them and that will give you the FOIL to obtain: (3*x +1) (x - 5) = 0 : Setting each of the two factors = 0 will give you a solution to the value of "x" ; 3*x + 1 = 0 x = -1/3 ; x = 5
