What NFL team has the best offense, best defense?
Who do you think has the best offense? And who do you think has the best defense?
My picks:
Best offense = Patriots, no doubt about it. With Brady at QB, and Welker, Gronk, Hernandez, Lloyd, Ridley....And their O-line is one of the best too. I dont care how good another teams defense is, you cant stop the Patriots offense. You can try to slow it down, but you can not stop it.
Best Defense = Chicago Bears. Their defense is very good. Its so good that they win games for the Bears because obviously their offense cant do anything. Their secondary is one of the best groups I have ever seen. And linebackers and linemen are also very good. They can stop the run, stop the pass, stop anything.
@Carolina - The Patriots have 30 more points than any other team in the NFL. And look at the teams they played: Cardinals (very good defense), Seahawks (very good defense), Jets (good defense), Ravens (good defense), Rams (good defense)..they played alot of teams with solid defense and STILL have 30 more points than anyone in the league. No other NFL team has that many weapons...NONE!
And look at what happened last year? What, making it to the Super Bowl with the last ranked defense in the league? Thanks for proving my point dummy!
Carolina, you're right the Patriots defense was not ranked dead last in 2011, it was 26th according to ESPN.com team defense rankings. And the Pats put up 30 points on the Ravens, and the Broncos, both have good defenses, and 29 on the Jets. You cant say their offense is not that good because they put up over 40 points on bad teams. Thats what they're supposed to do!
@Browns - Why dont you blame teams for giving up? Your mad at the Pats for putting a whooping on a team that gave up? LOL! Blame the other team for giving up! And how many times have the Pats lost after being ahead? Thats why they keep putting up points on teams, and keep passing when they are ahead.

@Carolina Panthers- Both the Bills and the Rams deserved what they got. The Bills, getting an early 21-7 lead, acting like they had that game locked. Those damn Bills. And the Rams? Bradford throwing that 50 yd TD pass on their first possession, thinking they were gonna play a close game with Brady and Co., cocky bastads..... serves them right.....
Best Offense: No doubt, Patriots.
Best Defense: I'd go with the Bears as well. The Texans couldn't stop another powerhouse offense in the Packers. The Bears did lose to the Packers as well, but not as badly.

I have never liked the Patriots, I can't stand Brady or the Coach. I do, however agree with you. They have an explosive offense that really can't be stopped. They don't have a big time receiver and they don't need one, they can just spread the ball around.....
And unlike the other offense based teams (New Orleans, Green Bay, etc ) they can RUN the ball!the Patriots have some holes in the secondary but make up for it by their monster offensive attack. They will be hard to stop in December/January
Defense I'm going with Chicago as of RIGHT NOW. Their QB is playing at an average level, but it seems like every week they find a way for the defense to bail the team out and win big!! I doubt it lasts all year though. If you ask this question next month the best defense answer will change.

The Amazing Spider-Man is such a tool. All he cares about and takes notice to is the Patriots. Believe it or not, there's civilization outside of New England.
Yes. Because Sam Bradford throwing a touchdown pass on their first possession completely and utterly 100% warrants the clearly superior team scoring 45 unanswered points on them and Gronk dancing in the endzone like a male stripper. Face it, the Patriots were set up to win that game and win that game big. Why? Because they were in London, and they're pushing for a franchise there. So when they see the "Patriotic" and "successful" New England Patriots, they assume that they're the best the NFL has to offer and the true America's Team (even though everybody who lives in the states knows exactly who the Cowboys are. EVERYBODY). Do you really think any of those Londoners can name anybody on the RAMS? No. So when they see the ALL-AMERICAN NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS being dynamic right from the get-go, they say to themselves "Hey, we can have an ALL-ENGLAND equivalent be just as good!" So stop being a Patriots fanboy.
The best offense is between the Packers and Patriots. Only difference is, like CP said, the Packers have more class than to continue to pass the ball when you're already up 38-7.
The best defense is the Bears is terms of takeaways, but the 49ers defense hasn't given up anything all year, except to the Giants. They're tough. Seattle is also a few pieces away from being very, very, very good also. I like all three of their defenses.

I think that the best offense in the NFL right now could be either the New York Giants, or the New Orleans Saints. The Giants have a great receiving core and an elite QB in Eli. Their running game isn't horrendous anymore either. The only thing holding the Saints back from easily being the best offense in the league is the fact that they have no number 1 running back. Pierre Thomas could take that job easily, with Darren Sprolles being the receiving RB, but the Saints haven't done this yet. If I had to choose an offense to be #1, I would choose the Saints.
When it comes to defense, I would probably say that the Bears are the best. They may not be the most solid defense out there, but they are the most dynamic. They are 1st in interceptions, TDs, and they are 3rd in sacks.

Carolina...Your an idiot....Those were New Englands down games???? I'll give you arizona but Baltimore the Pats put up 30 in Baltimore and Seattle they had almost 500 yds. It's their defense that lost those games not the offense. Jets...29 points....If these are bad offensive numbers then I would hate to be a team to see there avg numbers.
OMG you are the ultimate hater.

Where was that explosive Patriots offense against the Cardinals, Jets, Seahawks & Ravens? They ran the score up against the Bills & St. Louis, don't tell me they have the best offense and it's not even close. People said that crap last year and look what happened.
I believe the best defense in the NFL are the Chi Bears.
------------------------------------------------------
The Patriots didn't have the last ranked defense in the league, they were middle of the pack in points allowed.
The Patriots have 30+ more points than anyone else because they continue to pass and run the score up against the teams that have already conceded defeat.
