How to treat sprained finger?

Over the summer, I sprained my index finger after a drill at football camp where I landed and my finger bent all the way back. It has never have gotten a chance to heal fully because I'm a wide receiver and use my hands everyday at practice, I just always fight through the pain. Is there anyway I can finally heal my finger/knuckele? Any foods that will boost healing? I have been drinking a lot of protein, too. Any advice would be great, thank you!

Yeah, i had similar to your's a few weeks ago, playing soccer when i got a big *** hard shot from a guy and the ball f*ed up my finger. It wasn't broken, but it turned blue and it was swollen. But all i did was taking bandage around it everyday and some ice. Don't use / work with it so much and u'll be fine :)

Sorry, but to get it to heal up it has to be immobilized. Yes, I know this seriously affects your activity in sports.

A lot of times, to immobilize it some, but still give it a little use, the doctor will simply tape it around to the finger next to it.

I sprained my finger once too, but i never knew it was sprained untill it was half healed but since i never knew it was sprained i jsut left it and it healed itself but you should have injured it more while playing football. You should try going to your doctor so that he/she could check it out.
