How do I move away from home?
I am just so depressed and burnt out, in the area I live in. I see the same faces everyday and my relatives drive freaking crazy. My main problem, is that I have not worked a day in my and it's really hard for me to get a job. There is just no jobs out here in the country. I am doing my best, as I am currently going through college, but that is no guarantee.
@hipntrippy: What degree did you get? I am still undecided on what to major in. I am thinking either a bachelors in computer engineering or applied physics. I even thought about Oceanography for a little while.

I was in your shoes. small town less than 200, high school class less than 10. all relatives were in the area. I know all about it. I want you to look at studies as your job. I want you to be committed to doing it. Don't treat your classes like they are hurdles to jump or hoops to jump through. Really listen and learn. Treat college like it is a real job. get there on time. be the last to leave. if you do well and are pursuing a good degree that is actually worth something, then you will get paid for your work in school by getting a job. I had some professors that sucked. they were tenured geezers who had been teaching the same courses for the past 30 years and had stopped learning themselves. their information was old and dry, and their class books were the same ones they taught from since the day they started 30 years before. They came into academia in the 60's and their liberal stupidity was apalling. Your professors may suck and be irrelevant too... I get that. Nonetheless, absorb and learn and let your opportunity for a better future really push you and motivate you. After I graduated, I left home. got a job. now I'm making 6 figures, and i'm giving my family a far higher quality of life than I ever grew up having. stop feeling sorry for yourself and suck it up. YOU can do it, and you need to.

It is hard to move without a good bit of money. Travel expenses and a place to live eat up the money until you get a job. Life gets better as you get older as long as you pay attention to your goal and don't make a lot of mistakes.

It will be extremely difficult, or even possible if you move out before you get a job.
Take it easy. I am sure you will get a job soon.
Good luck!
