Ship a package with out USPS?

I don't have time to go down and do it, could I just put it in the mailbox and send it that way or have to go thru USPS, USP or FedEx?

Update:

The packages are not heavy only has four SNES video games and the other have three Genesis and one SNES games and the last has two SNES, eight Gameboy Color games and three DS and some Advanced games. (this one is not heavy at all)

Me and my cousin collect vintage video games but we in different states so now we are going to be shipping games and I normally found stuff here in UT and he did in WA but I found some here that he wants and same with me.

I have a suggestion. Go to USPS.COM buy the postage over the internet and request 'Carrier Pickup'. There are people that ship all the time and never get out of their PJ's!

If you and your cousin expect to do this often request some flat rate boxes or envelope. It sounds like the smallest size would fit your needs.

Go to the Post Office site and just explore.

The security restrictions refer to packages over 13 ounces with stamps affixed.

You can't just drop a package in a mailbox because of security regulations that were enacted after 9/11. Every mailbox has a sign explaining the rules.

unless you have a scale at home and can weigh the packages or use flat rate boxes, no.

if either scenario above is true then you can pay and print out a postage label on line as well as arrange for pickup by your local carrier

otherwise you must go in person and arrange for shipment.
