Subwoofer(s) chirping?

I have two DD 1508's hooked up to a Hifonics GLX1800.1. DD subwoofers are high quality. Hifonics is performance standard. I was bumpin on the way to work and my sub(s) started chirping. They have been thumpin for about a month, month and a half and now are chirping . So why are they doing this?

Check your sub box. Sometimes a loose panel will squeak and make the noise you describe.

Rockford Fosgate Punch 2011 or newer P1 or P2 Series Subwoofer Grille. Best of all, a raw intercrossed stamp-cast basket offers the best of both worlds by providing A-one strength while minimizing weight and resonance. A cost in effect way to protect your subwoofer.

What do you mean by chirping? Sorry from South Africa, not used to the overseas terminology.

  • are they clipping? if not the subs may just be scraping against metal as they move up and down
