Because Republican messaging has been that Obama hadn't been able to get unemployment under 8%. They made it into a big psychological barrier, which made its breaking big news. Perhaps if unemployment went back over 8%, you would see more of a big to-do over the latest numbers.

But the real reasons are probably irrelevant to you. You just want an excuse to accuse any media outlet that isn't highly critical of Obama and supportive of Romney of being biased.

Yahoo has always been liberal. No surprise that right before an election where Obama could be in trouble they would not fuel the fire.

Not to mention for African Americans it's 14.2% yet they vote for Obama in droves...they say Romney will put them back in chains and back to the fields, but it's the democrats who can't seem to get them working - the democrats are good at making them dependent slaves to the government.
