EASY GRAVITY QUESTION!!?

1) Calculate the effective value of g, the acceleration of gravity, at 6700m , above the Earth's surface.

2) Calculate the effective value of g , the acceleration of gravity, at 6900km , above the Earth's surface.

    g1= GM/d² =6.673e-11*5.977e24 / {(6378.2+6.7)*1e3} ² = 9.78354 m/s ²

    g2= GM/d² =6.673e-11*5.977e24 / {(6378.2+6900)*1e3} ² = 2.26217 m/s ²

    g is proportional to 1/r^2.

    Figure out how far that is from the center of the earth (add it to the radius). Compare that to how far the surface is from the center of the earth (i.e., the radius). Square the ratio.
