Can We Consider Tropical Plants, Annual, Biennial and Perennial?

I was told that these terms refer to only temperate plants. If anyone of you guys were to say yes or no.... Please provide websites that support your answers. Thanks!

No, those terms refer to how often they bloom and what time of year to plant. Also, depending on the climate that you live in will determine the results of the plants ,flowers, that you choose. For instance if you live in a fairly cold region a tropical fern won't flourish. If you live in the desert a Hosta wouldn't survive. Tropical plants need a warm humid climate, Annuals have to be planted every year, Biennials you plant every other year. They take the first season to establish, the next year they fruit and then die. and Perennials only have to be planted once. You can go to Better Homes and Gardens website and Wikipedia to find out most of what you need to know about what plants are what and also you can check out the National Gardening Association online for the Hardiness zone finder for planting.
