I had acne when I was in 8th grade. I tried Proactiv and all the neutrogena products that apparently claimed that they were going to 'get rid' of my acne. Didn't work. What REALLY worked was when I finally got the guts to go to the dermatologist. If you have mild to severe acne, I recommend going to a dermatologist. I went there and within one month all my pimples were gone. I took a pill which helped tremendously and she prescribed me some medicine. If it's just a few pimples, buy the new Clean and Clear Advance Acne Treatment. The silver ones with the purple tops. I don't recommend the whole packet, since it's not getting rid of my blemishes within one day like it says it does, but I recommend getting the small tube of the clean and clear one. It's clear and it makes most of my pimples go away. Wash with an exfoliating wash in the morning and night, put that stuff on when I go to sleep. Some people say tooth paste works on pimples. For me, it doesn't. It just makes it feel tingly and when I wash it off, it's just as red as ever. Depending on your skin, it may or may not work. I hope those tips helped. :)

No miracle to acne treatment. Some treatments use medicine to stop bacteria infection. And others focus on the oil secretion by oil glands. Cleaning out the oil blockages inside pores seems to be an effective way to remove acne at early stage. Chlorella Gel Cleanser is a good cleanser to remove red bumps quickly because it can absorb oil out of pores. Don't use creams or masks. They can block pores and make mores acne.

I can tell you that the girl who said murads sulfur mask is right. Its basically called murad clarifying clay mask, with 4 or 2% sulfur. I always use this stuff, i actually finished a whole tube of it because its that good. It literally helps the pimple overnight and it helps the severity of the redness. I usually just dot it all over the acne areas in a thin layer and sleep with it on
You should try it out. It does work and works fast.

I've had acne for four years and believe me - it is hard to get rid of! I've been on a countless amount of creams and lotions and pills all prescribed to me by the doctor but seriously, none of it works. A couple of months ago I discovered Freederm: Facial Scrub. If you're looking for a miracle, it's defiantly worth the money! It certainly worked for me, and although I still have my acne (I fear I always will), the redness of the spots has died dramatically, as well as the amount I develop. I hope this helps, and good luck! :)

I feel your pain. I used to have cystic acne along my jawline, lots of red pustules on my forehead, black heads on my nose and white heads galore. To be honest, I looked terrible. I used every product that I could think of. After trying everything else, I tried Duac Cream and I swear that after a week, I was close to clear. I also used Murad's Sulfur mask which also worked wonders. Just hang in there, it will get better :)

Maybe you are right, it might be hereditary. Sometimes it depends on the skin type also. Luckily my skin responds well to the new treatment for acne that I'm using. I hope that you can find the cure for your acne.
