Do Americans care about other countries politics?

Obviously there is a difference between individuals but as a general do other countries elections appear on the news or get discussed. Because around the world everyone has the American elections thrust upon them. We have other countries like frances and Italy's as well as america.

Thanks

It's thrust upon people because the US is considered the world's only superpower. Despite their declining economy America still has the ability to affect the world in a lot of ways. It doesn't really matter who wins the election in Slovenia.

I have to go out of my way to learn about foreign politics (and I only do it because I have family and friends around the world). So I'm guessing most Americans just don't know.

Yes, to a degree. They will report on politics in other countries. The odd thing is, though, we don't seem to be interested enough to actually name the parties in those countries very often.

As America goes .. so goes the world. So they should be interested. Also remember that a lot of other countries are very small .. like our states. Comparing apples and oranges.

Since WW2 Europe, Australia, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea has relied our military to fend of aggressive communism, so they would naturally be "interested." Were it not for us American taxpayers spending hundreds of billions to defend Europe they'd have to cut back on their social welfare programs. I'd vote, in a heartbeat, for someone who said to Europe: "Henceforth you pay us for what we do for you or we're outta here."

Not really, we want to be kept out of it as much as possible. We also resent other countries thinking they have the right to butt their noses into our elections.

    Yes.

Such things have an impact on America's actions and policies.

Of course, they are always installing dictators then pretending they support the people who over throw the dictators.

Only when they interfere with my country or our sovereignty.
