  • Which would you rather?

Work extremely hard all your life and retire early (say 50) wealthy.

    Or

Travel the world, enjoying yourself, working for charities and helping out the less fortunate and eventually try to settle down later on in life (say 50) but you won't have much money when you retire late at 75.

Take into mind you could die at any point for any reason and you have very little money starting off in both situations.

  • How much does it cost to join a political Party?

I'm 16. I would say which one but I know I'll only get people saying 'your soul' or something.

How much would it cost for a membership annually?

    Thanks

  • What's the point in a masters degree?

I thought about getting one but from what I've seen there isn't much point in getting one because it won't help with getting jobs and maybe even hinder it so it's just a waste of money.

Why do people get them? Which fields need them? What's the pros and cons to them?

  • Which universities and courses would be best?

I'm doing Maths, Further maths, economics and politics at A-level

I would like to be a politician ideally but that's a bit volatile so i think I need a proper career idea as a back up.

Originally I wanted to study PPE but I keep thinking I might want to do law and become a barrister and I don't want to regret anything 10 years down the line.

Would it be better to get a law degree and would i have the option of going into the financial sector as well as law if I got it.

I think both subjects would intrest me.

What careers can you go into with a PPE degree and is it worth getting (as in worth all that money when i could just work my way up)?

Also which universities would be best for those courses?

    I was thinking:

    Oxford

    Durham

    Warwick

    York

    Manchester

but if anyone has any better suggestions it'd be much appreciated

  • This sums up the US election?

    http://www.explosm.net/comics/2979/

So who do you think is going to win?

  • Is there a left wing party in the US?

Genuinely left wing, socialist to center, because the US seems a very right wing country, the two main parties being right wing, and no other parties seem to make the news. Are there people who are voted in that aren't a democrat or republican?

    Thanks

  • Do Americans care about other countries politics?

Obviously there is a difference between individuals but as a general do other countries elections appear on the news or get discussed. Because around the world everyone has the American elections thrust upon them. We have other countries like frances and Italy's as well as america.

    Thanks

  • I'm 16. Career advice?

I'm starting college in September and I'm going to study: Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Politics. (I'm an A/* pupil)

I'm interested in current affairs and maths and I'd like to work my way into something in maths (broad) then maybe politics.

I want to do a degree at university in something along the lines of economics. Is there a point in going to Uni for those sort of courses? ('cause I do want to go) And if I did which course is best? (as in which would give me the most options/ seem better to potential employers?)

I know everything isn't just about qualifications but if any one could help me out I'd be grateful.
