Which would you rather?

Work extremely hard all your life and retire early (say 50) wealthy.

Or

Travel the world, enjoying yourself, working for charities and helping out the less fortunate and eventually try to settle down later on in life (say 50) but you won't have much money when you retire late at 75.

Take into mind you could die at any point for any reason and you have very little money starting off in both situations.

I'm probably going to die a horrible, miserable death in Afghanistan before I hit 30 considering the path I've chosen. So I'm not worried about growing old.

  • I will take the option "Travel the world, enjoying yourself, working for charities and helping out the less fortunate and eventually try to settle down later on in life (say 50) but you won't have much money when you retire late at 75".

Because I want to do something good before I die.

Well, it depends. What do you mean by working hard? If you mean constantly working and having absolutely no social life and no fun at all ever, then that's not very good. However, if we are allowed a bit of relaxation, time off and some travelling, then definitely the first one. As long as there is some degree of fun and "playtime" lol

Second option for me would be great, mainly because of the Travel the world bit.

To the second answer, same here most likely if I don't find a job soon, but you shouldn't think like that...
