Meaning of "act in deposit manners"?
What is the meaning of "to act in deposit manners?" I encountered the phrase on a Wiki page about Rome in this context:
All members of the dynasty drew political power from their family ties to Julius Caesar and Augustus. While members often acted in deposit manners, the key principle of the dynasty was upholding the Republic facade of the Empire, known as the Principate, in which the Emperors were not seen as monarchs buts as "first citizen".
From context, it appears to mean "to act in a manner opposite of citizenship," in other words, ruling corruptly or oppressively.
I wonder, too, if it's not a typographical error. Did the author intend "act in despotic manners?"

Your assumption of a typographical error is correct--despotic manners is what is implied.
