What are the recessive traits of blue eyes?
I have green eyes, like very light cat green, but everyone else in my family (both parents, all four grandparents, all siblings) everyone else has blue eyes. How did i end up with green?

Not much is known about the actual inheritance mechanism of human eye color. There are at least 8 genes that may be involved, including genes for the type of melanin produced, how much is produced, and where it is deposited in the layers of the iris. Interactions among these genes result in variations in eye color. About the only factor that seems to hold true is that "dark" eye-color is "dominant" to "light" eye-colors. Green is a variation of both brown and blue eyes.

blue eyes are recessive gene but if your parents or grandparents had blue eyes or the the gene to blue eyes they could have passed it to you without it expression so you probably have the gene (genotype) for Brown eyes and for blue eyes but the expression that you can see (phenotype) is brown because it is dominant to blue, but to your children you passed the gene to blue eyes and so did your husband so your children have blue eyes if you will pass the gene to brown eyes your next kid will have dark eyes
