How to get Blu-Rays to play on a Compaq?

So I bought myself a movie on Blu-Ray today because they didn't have it on DVD in the hope that one of our players would be able to play it, but silly me, none could.

So now I'm trying all manner of things to get it going on my laptop, a Compaq with no Blu-Ray drive.

In fact, it's not even acknowledging that there's a disc in there at all!

Is there any way I can get around this problem with some free software off the internet or whatever else?

Any help would be appreciated. :)

    Standard CD/DVD optical drives will not read a Blue Ray disc you would need to replace the optica; drive with a Blue Ray drive.

    Fail. Nah sorry to say but you NEED A blu ray player

    as far as im aware, u will need a blu ray drive for your pc
