Anyone else get watery Angostura Bitters?

I have Angostura Bitters but I haven't noticed it being watery or a change from the past to now. Maybe it was just a mis-perception on your part.

I have definitely noticed a change in the taste of Angostura. I've bought it all my adult life, to mix with soda water in the summer as a evening cocktail. I usually buy a few bottles at a time. I finally ran out of all my bottles and went to buy a few more. I thought I was imagining things when I mixed my first "drink," so I didn't say anything when I handed hers to my mother. She sipped a little and then looked up and said, "I hate to say this, but it doesn't taste the same." Tastes much milder now, and more cinnamon-y. Much of the bitterness is gone and that indescribably subtle old medicine taste is gone. It's different now, and you are the only person I've seen say anything about it. To think my old bottles lasted for a few years beyond the change, and I was ignorant of it. I wish I'd saved a drop to compare. I do read in places that there were fears of a shortage of production stoppage in 2009 -- but these failed to materialize. Maybe they adulterated their formula at that time. People now-a-days buy everything by label and are rather clueless about taste. Look at how they buy their fruits and vegetables -- not by how they smell or taste, but if they look pretty. The label on the bitters bottle is the same -- which to many people will be absolute proof that it is the same, lol.
