Seniors. How many of you enter?

competitions on a regular basis, including the lottery? And are you lucky or not?

The reason I ask is that I have NEVER won anything in my entire life. I have been doing the lottery since it started and have never even won £10.

Every day I enter the Dickinson's Real Deal competition .

Nothing. Nieto. Zilch.Nichts. Niente.

I only once went to the races, where, at Goodwood, there were 13 horses running in the 3.30. I thought if I back 10 of them each way, I can't lose.

The three I didn't back came 1st 2nd and 3rd.

And yet I have known people that win everything they enter, and often for the first time. The lottery or the Pools, cars, holidays, cash, photographic equipment, motorhomes, you name it.

Are some people just born unlucky?

Or did I once fart in church?

They see me heading for church they lock the doors.

I guess I sir grumpy are a tad bit luckier than you. I am the booby- prize queen. Over her the booby- prize goes to a person at various parties who don't win anything. Started as a child at birthday parties with pin the tail on the donkey and such, then I graduated to bridal showers, baby showers, and tupperware parties. At the tupperware party I got some plastic doo-dad for God knows what. Something to molest a grapefruit with or something of the sort. Just go to some hen type party where they can take pity on you for being a loser like me and they will see the down trodden sadness in your eyes and gift you with something.

By not betting on the lottery, I've won more than millions of others. At least I have kept my dollar. My husband however, had won a few times. Once it was for a thousand. That helped pay for our property taxes that year. We hadn't saved much and forgot about those taxes when all of a sudden the bill came in the mail. I prayed and asked the Lord to help us out. That same week was when Patrick won. Another time before that we needed money for rent. Pat, and the kids and I got in our car and started driving north. We stopped in a convenience store and got some soda. He then drove a few miles north to the horse races. The kids and I snacked on chips and soda while he went in. It was only half an hour after we got there that Pat comes walking out. He comes out smiling and won the trifecta. He used convenience store numbers. It was enough to pay our rent plus some. That week he won even more. He got a job. That was approximately 28 years ago.

My dad does the lottery at the weekend and has very little luck. He has won on the EuroMillions a couple of times but only a few pounds. It is just the odds andctherefore techncally you have the same odds as winning as everyone else, but I know what you mean some people seem.lucky and my middle niece alwas seems lucky in raffles. The most I won on the lottery was years ago and it was about 60 odd pounds.

Not so much. I'm not clever enough to win ones with any kind of mind skill. We used to play the lottery regularly but realized how much it cost was not equaling out with how much we won. Once in awhile we will buy a ticket.

In 1977 I won $10,000 on a scratch off lottery ticket. We got a check for $8,000 but got well over $2,000 back in taxes that year. We "roughed in" our house with that money.

Oh dear Grumpy I'm much the same regarding monetary luck, still I have my family and friends so I can't class myself as totally unlucky, far from it.

I also have my sight, hearing and somewhat strained mobility so I suppose I can say I'm very lucky indeed.

As for the lottery Hubby has won a couple of tenners in his time but he's like most of us in that he's ploughed more into it than he's ever got out of it.....still hey ho there's always next time..))

I don't enter lotteries, my money was too hard earned but I do have the full quota of Premium Bonds and few months go by without at least one £25 prize. Not a lot but at least all my cash is still available

You maybe have stood on a worm....Where I have always been lucky?, won small amounts on the Lottery and lucky in love!....In fact looking back, the good times are more than the bad ones, and we have had our share of those

Once, nearly twenty years ago I won 20 pounds. Since then, nothing. I quit playing last year.
