Is Environmentalism a religion?
Are there similarities with peoples devotion to the Environment and devotion to God? A US. Senator declared Al Gore a profit, did he not? Any scientist who speaks out is de funded. Is Environmentalism a government sponsored religion?
It has sacraments; recycling and saving energy. The leaders of the movement are hipocates owning 5 homes and flying in private jets.

Good grief. Are we calling everything religions today!?
My t-shirt is a religion!
As for people losing funding if they speak out. Let's say we can see a train hurtling along some tracks towards a train in a station. The moving train has broken brakes and the stationary train has a broken engine.
5 groups have been given money to solve and prevent this coming disaster.
One of the groups says "It's gonna be fine, there's no accident coming." but provides no evidence whatsoever to support this belief that there is no looming accident.
What do you do? Let them keep the money and do whatever they want with it? Or take the money back and give it to one of the other groups who are working on the problem?
Gee whizz, that was easy to realise wasn't it!?!
Anyone who says climate change isn't occurring and we've got nothing to worry about is a ******* ******** who needs his teeth kicked in. It's no longer even a case of IF the global temperature is going to change, only a case of when will it start to happen in earnest and if we're prepared for it.
Millions if not billions are going to die when the water levels rise some 6meters over the course of a few decades and the equator becomes inhospitable for humans, but we can do something to reduce the number of deaths if we stop ******* denying that the train is hurtling along the tracks and the ******* brakes are broken!

i doesn't classify it as a faith, more advantageous of a life style. i'm a forester, and that i have committed myself to conserving the ecosystem and our organic supplies to the finest of my capacity. for sure, i'd have run you down on previous questions you've printed...yet specifically because i replaced into bored as hell and that i merely favor some thing to reply too. *Sorry :( yet they are frequently good questions, no matter if I agree or disagree. yet when what you're saying you're doing is real, than kudos to you for doing so. Its the superb situation for all of nature and our planet. yet regrettably, many human beings won't be able to do all of those issues because they are both too expensive, or the position they stay doesn't enable it. Alaska as an instance, or maybe the position I stay the position an electric powered motor vehicle must be drained of capacity interior of 5 miles of driving. yet I do say that I make the finest of my movements, and decrease the quantity of harm i visit probable do to the ecosystem.

That's ridiculous. People are environmentalists because they want to take care of the planet. They want to take care of the planet because we live here.....and our children will live here, and their children will live here. Why screw it all up for them? Well, any more than we already have. Nobody is trying to take care of the planet because they think some invisible fairy will be mad at them if they don't. Recycling and saving energy are hardly "sacraments". That's just silly.

Defunded? No they aren't...they are defunded if their research is going nowhere.
If I discovered the quark particle and then said that climate change was a lie...I would still get funding for my work in quantum research...
And no, it's not. In that case, everything that anyone could get passionate about would be a religion.
devotion =/= religion

Makes more sense than most religions. At least they are not ruining the only planet so far that sustains life.
