Does knowing the truth change your mind about this video?
Recently here and other places much has been made about this video http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4301487,...
At least this Israeli version admits that the little girls brother was violently detained just earlier. However it doesn't mention that so was her mother. Nor does it mention that the demonstrators are in a Palestinian village, on Palestinian property to protest the occupation of the town's water supply- a spring on PRIVATE PALESTINIAN PROPERTY. Settlers, with IDF aid, built a shed in which they sit and force Palestinian who try to use the spring, away at gunpoint.
Videos were edited and released to make it appear the children were "set upon" the IDF. When watching a much longer, unedited version the truth becomes clear http://palsolidarity.org/2012/08/video-soldiers-at...
Or do you support land theft and arresting those who protest against it?
@shay, guess you've never seen a Viet Nam protest. EVERY protest here in the Western World is preceding by a call to the media- it's the reason there ARE protests. What is your truth? Do you deny the girls mother was arrested? Do you deny that settlers are occupying a spring that is located on PRIVATE PALESTINIAN PROPERTY? Do you deny these settlers are refusing to allow Palestinians access to THEIR spring on THEIR property? Instead of debating specific points, you just deny the whole story, without ANY evidence contrary.
No sir, there TRUTH and there's FABRICATION. I have supplied evidence; at the VERY least, the WHOLE video shows that the soldiers were not just innocent lams while children spat at them.
@simple simon- are you saying the video is a lie? Then what is your point? The IDF is lying too? They don't debate the authenticity of the video, they just showed only a snippet.
@esther guess you didn't see the part when the girl's mother was arrested- and the fact her brother was violently detained was mentioned in the yNet article. And I think the most important thing is protesters AREN'T arrested at least not for trying to evict people who have occupied their private property. In fact pretty much anywhere else in the Western World, it would be the SETTLERS being arrested. Strange how you don't mention THAT!
you know what's so depressing? These people were protesting they can't get to THEIR WELL. It's on PRIVATE PALESTINIAN LAND. So far I haven't seen any pro-Israeli speak out against it. I hear how settlers buy the land, they don't steal; well not in THIS case. Yet when a protest happens, I hear how terrible these Palestinians are for having the nerve to say settlers shouldn't take their land. This isn't "disputed" this is outright theft. And it's depressing because until Israeli supporters can admit that it DOES happen and condemn it- there will never be peace.
@shay BTW If I was the platoon commander/leader, I would've evicted the settlers- upholding the law. Thus negating the need for the protest in the first place.
@esther- the soldier's did nothing wrong? So the fact that they are allowing settlers to not only occupy Palestinian private property, allowing the settlers to threaten Palestinians at gunpoint for the audacity of trying to get at THEIR OWN spring doesn't bother you? The fact that this is neither Israel nor even a settlement doesn't bother you? Thankyou, I believe you've just summed up what is so wrong about the occupation. You see nothing wrong with Israelis taking Palestinian land- and holding it by force. You see nothing wrong with soldiers arresting Palestinians who protest the fact. Again all on PALESTINIAN PRIVATE PROPERTY. I'm sorry but democracies don't work that way or aren't supposed to. And in the West when they DO something like that- people PROTEST.
@jonah, so to be clear, you advocate killing people for having the audacity for telling people to not take their property? Yea, and it's PALESTINIANS who don't want peace!
@john that's some chutzpah. If I were you I wouldn't bring up killing children. If that's your guideline then Palestinians are FAR more moral then Israelis- according to YOUR standards, not mine. Israel has killed more Palestinian children- and by quite a bit, then Palestinians. In fact the IDF shot a little boy in the head, killing him, at the site of the demonstrations. Think before you post!

This is disgusting. Israeli soldiers and settlers squatting on Palestinian land kidnapping people and they are shown as victims because they didn't hurt a ten years old girl in front of all these cameras? I also love the Hasbara title "Palestinian girl tries to goad soldiers into lashing out". So the girl was not upset about her brother or mother kidnapped by armed strangers, or because settlers are stealing their land, but her plan was to provoke the soldiers into hurting her!!!! Seriously?

Saying "the truth" is kind of arrogant. From both sides. Have you been there? How can you actually asseverate what has been in the video isn't edited by Palestinians? Anyway I haven't seen your video.
I am watching it (Real Time! :D)
In the min. 1.45 The video skips. I do not really know what has this Arab women done, I don't know yet, whether if it was ethical or not. Though she seems to be provoking the soldiers.
2.45 I see some images of some children shouting at Israeli soldiers. It seems to be relatively pacific.
3.34 I don't really understand too much. The soldiers are trying to stop children. Then a truck arrives and they get in.
4.43 I see that the soldiers don't want these children to pass certain imaginary line. I am suprised by the tolerance and flexibility of the soldiers and at the same time, how Arabs protest pacificly. At the same time, I consider that using children is cowardy. They use children as a moral shield. You get me?
A child shouldn't be involved in such actions.
5.46 They are arresting them. Hmm children cry for being separated from their mom.
7.08 a rocket was fired, the girl starts arguing with the soldiers.
9:01 ohh they made a fortress. Typical, the guy launched the gas adn the other had s stick and rocks. LOL
I am bored...
12.29
The guys start attacking a truck. This is not good.
Oh god! I feel like beating all these guys.
The video skips a lot
15.28
Woah. They are even rude with the press.
Hmm... I don't really think this was the same video. LOl I don't change of opinion if that is what you are asking, in fact (I use to be close to protests and this kind of demostrations) you don't know how is a real opressin army. I will show you (directly from a Colombia).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cn1fyKntf0&feature...
3.30: 71 people arrested.
32 people wounded.
This my friend is something worse! The IDF is pretty pacific. My whole support for them.
Source(s): It is a casual protest. Nothing huge. I still think children shouldn't be use for this kind of stuff. It is like to get rid of any opression (since you can barely touch a child). - 5 years ago
I had an abortion at 18 and 6yrs later I still realize it used to be the first-class selection I would have made at the time. I mission anybody to make me suppose otherwise your pro-existence propaganda wont phase me in any respect are trying again

You know what, Michardav? I actually took the time to watch this entire video and only because you're the one who posted it, and unlike most pro-Pals on here, you seem sane. However, as usual, the video does not prove what you seem to think it does. Do you know that protesters are arrested everywhere, even right here in the US, which is known for allowing protesting and freedom of speech. Yet even here, protesters are arrested. There is nothing wrong with that. If the protesters were stupid enough to take their children with them, and they get arrested, obviously they can't take their children with them. That's a given.
And where is the part where the two nephews were supposedly "brutally beaten?" The video shows two boys trying to get by the soldiers, and the soldiers did not lay a hand on them. They didn't even touch them! Yet the article says that they did. If they did, you'd better believe with all that filming, they would have caught that on tape. Yet there is nothing. It's all a lie.
Furthermore, the fact that the girls screaming at the soldiers were conveniently edited out of this video proves the point that Palestinians edit their videos in order to support their lies. Yet this time, they didn't do such a good job because I see absolutely nothing to help your cause.
The soldiers did nothing wrong. On the contrary. What I see are Palestinians attacking the soldiers' vehicles. This video has done nothing but solidify my pro-Israeli stance.

I have seen the two versions of that video, the version those Israeli trolls want to show to the world and the video telling the full story of the mother who protested the settlers overtaking the land of the Palestinians and instead of pushing the settlers away the soldiers seized the mother and badly treated her in a way drove her children crazy.
I have seen also incidents where soldiers admit that they are instructed to take action only against the Palestinians but not against the settlers.
It is really pathetic.
Israelis will never admit it for a simple reason, it is the hate culture they were raised to believe in.
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
― Martin Luther King Jr., A Testament of Hope:
I see the light at the end of the tunnel. It is coming no doubt
Let them keep the hate. Let them dig their graves by themselves
Edit; @Shay P
Israeli photographers were there to witness the demonstration.or do you suggest it was a conspiracy?
What really matters is how the Israeli media handled the story and how do they deceive people like you.
Soldiers knew they were photographed. my friend.
In most cases they never treat children that nice.

Michardav, there's no point in arguing with Israelis (especially Esther). You can have evidence as clear as day and those Israelis will be in such denial. They also try and blame the poor child, who is probably traumatized. See the way they treat the girls with such harshness? It's obvious the IDF is scared lol.
John- Are you serious? Only a troll would say something like this.
- Anonymous9 years ago
Truth is those soldiers were doing their job and that girl was provoking the poor innocent soldiers. I think lethal force should have been allowed to be used in that incident. These Palestinians are not capable of being reasonable.
- Anonymous9 years ago
Nothing. You kill our children - we only detain yours.
Who is more moral?
I think the answer is clear.

"And it's depressing because until Israeli supporters can admit that it DOES happen and condemn it- there will never be peace."
We know for a fact no one cared From 1914 - 2012 and the situation will become worse. Humanity let them down and that is why they are hanging on the rope that will never brake.
