Why do muslims believe that Jesus Christ was a prophet?

Muslims are moral people, so how could they possibly believe anything the bible says?

If muslims believe that christ was a prophet, then what do they know about his teachings since they cannot logically believe in the bible, christ being the supposed son of god and savior of mankind. Do they just pick and choose which verses in the bible to believe and shun? What do muslims think that jesus taught and where do they get their information? Again, I don't see the logic in a muslim believing anything that comes out of the bible, as any ethical person knows it to be false. Commit rape, adultery, murder, child abuse and its a-okay as long as you accept christ as you savior? No thanks!

I think that christianity is a total crock of ****. All the christians I have ever known just did whatever they wanted to do (stealing from people, adultery, violence, child abuse ect) because christ said that all of your sins will be forgiven in the bible so what the hell, right?

God is All-Knowing. God ONLY knows when the Day of Judgement (The Hour) will occur. No one else knows this, not you, not me, not Muhammad [ρєαcє вє υρση нιм], not Jesus [ρєαcє вє υρση нιм], not anyone except God.

❝The knowledge of it [the Day of Judgement] is with God only.❞ Quran [33:63]

Jesus [ρєαcє вє υρση нιм] NEVER said he was God nor did he ask people to worship him. He - just like all the other Prophets and Messengers of God - preached ρυяє мσησтнєιѕм!

Christians claim Jesus [ρєαcє вє υρση нιм] is God, but Jesus [ρєαcє вє υρση нιм] was not All-Knowing like God as he didn't know when the Day of Judgement will be:

❝No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son [i.e. Jesus], but only the Father.❞ Mark [13:32]

[Regarding calling Jesus the "Son" of God, please visit the following to know about the translation bias: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnX94... ]

Jesus [ρєαcє вє υρση нιм] taught ρυяє мσησтнєιѕм and NOT the trinity!

ƸӜƷ ✿❝O People of the Scripture! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, and do not speak (lies) against Allah, but (speak) the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a messenger of Allah...Say not "Trinity" : desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah: Glory be to Him. Far is it removed from His Transcendent Majesty that He should have a son.❞ Quran [4:171] ƸӜƷ

Jesus himself worshipped One God. Even the first commandment is the Oneness of God:

❝The first of all the Commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is ONE Lord.❞ Mark [12:29]

    ❝Say: He is God, One,

    God, the Self-sufficient One.

He does not beget, nor was He begotten

And there is nothing that could be compared with Him.❞ Quran [112]

Jesus NEVER claimed to be divine!

    Infact Jesus WORSHIPPED One God.

Today the Muslim testimony of faith is "There is no god worthy of worship except the (true) God and Muhammad is the Messenger of God". This is very similar to the following:

❝And this is life eternal, that they might know Thee, the ONLY true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent.❞ John [17:3]

    1. There is only One God

    2. And [insert Prophet] was sent as a мeѕѕeɴɢer oғ ɢod. Other Messengers of God are:

    ☑ Moses

    ☑ Solomon

    ☑ David

    ☑ Abraham

    ☑ Muhammad

    ☑ Jesus

All the Prophets of God did not claim to be God or divine. They are worshippers of God.

The TRUTH about Jesus [ρєαcє вє υρση нιм]:

❝That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him.❞ Quran [4:157]

Jesus did not come to die for people's sins or be worshipped, just like all the other righteous Messengers of God - Moses, David, Solomon & Muhammad - he taught people to worship One God:

❝Not a messenger did We send before thee without this inspiration sent by Us to him: that there is no god but I; therefore worship and serve Me.❞ Quran [21:25]

Jesus [ρєαcє вє υρση нιм] even said in the Quran: ❝It is Allah Who is my Lord and your Lord; then worship Him. This is a Way that is straight.❞ Quran [3:51]

ƸӜƷ ❝When God says, Jesus, son of Mary, did you say to people, Take me and my mother as two deities besides God? He will answer, Glory be to You! How could I ever say that to which I have no right? If I had ever said so, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my mind, while I do not know anything that is within Yours. You alone are the knower of unseen things.❞ Quran [5:116] ƸӜƷ

Out of Qur'an and Bible, the Qur'an is preserved while the bible is corrupted. Muslims only believe that portion of the bible which complies with the Qur'an. Rest is assumed to be addition or subtraction to the bible. Also, even if the bible says many things which might seem illogical but still it could be part of the bible. The Jews have always broken the covenant with God due to which God used heavy punishment and tough language in the bible. The bible was meant only for the children of Israel till the coming of Prophet Muhammad. Now the laws of bible have been overridden by the laws of the Qur'an. The life we are living in is windows 7, how can we use the manual of windows 98 to operate windows 7?

Same reason Christians do. A prophet is someone who gives a message received from God, to the people. Usually, setting them back on the correct path, and away from sin. Jesus absolutely did this, so, he is regarded as a prophet by both Christians, and Muslims.

Muslims DO acknowledge the Bible. Not in the same way as Christians, but, they accept quite a lot of it. They accept Jesus' virgin birth from Mary, his teachings, his prophecy, and so on. They just don't accept his being God.

As for sinning, and sins being forgiven - it isn't that easy. You have to be truly sorry, and be turning your life around. Sinning, knowing you are just going to confess, and doing it again - that actually doesn't work the way some think it does.

    okay.

First came the Jews. Their religious book was the Torah.

Then Jesus was born, he was a Jew, and some people that believed in him became Christians. They wrote the New Testament and added it on to the Torah (also called The Old Testament). That's the Bible.

A few hundred years later, Mohammed came. And some of the early Christians and some of the Jews that didn't convert to Christianity became Muslims because they followed Mohammed. Most of them recognized Jesus as someone who communicated with God (a prophet) but they did not believe he was the Savior. They wrote a new version of the Torah and added on parts about Mohammed.

"All the christians I have ever known just did whatever they wanted to do (stealing from people, adultery, violence, child abuse ect) because christ said that all of your sins will be forgiven in the bible so what the hell, right?"

He didn't actually say that. He repeatedly commanded people to repent*. St. Paul argued that after knowing we have been forgiven, we should never go on living in the same sinful way we did before. There are also multiple lists between the apostles of the types of people (read: perpetual sinners) who will not enter the Kingdom of God.

*Repentance means not "being sorry for the bad thing you're doing" but "STOPPING the bad thing you are doing".

Nobody is perfect, and Christians can be expected to make mistakes, but I have never met a sincere Christian who sincerely thought stealing, adultery, child abuse etc. was permissible.

Because Moses, David, Jacob and so on were never considered sons of God. They were never commended to be higher or greater than Jesus although they were his elder and preached practically the same message, although not as developed as their successors, the core was the same. Also, it seems rather illogical to proclaim one man the son of God and other humans simply nothing, especially the humans that are equal to Jesus such as Moses. Also, Muslims do not believe the Bible. They have their own book, the Quran, which also speaks of Jesus and states him to be a prophet. However, I don't recommend bashing another persons's religion just because you don't understand it. Even if you don't agree with Christians or have the same perspective as Muslims, please refrain from using foul language and unnecessary hatred when addressing them. Everyone decides who they are and what they want to believe on their own.

Muslims did not believe in the Bible but believe in Jesus because he was one of the mightiest prophet of Islam. He was the last prophet sent to the Israelites to warn them that the kingdom of God will be taken away from them and will given to another people.

The end sign will be the destruction of their temple (so was the end to daily sacrifice). The temple will be left desolated and many Israelites killed. Those who survived will be asked to flee to the mountains. As such event was imminent then, Jesus was sent to bring good news(gospels) i.e those who repented will be forgiven of their sins by God.

Jesus also prophesied the coming of prophet Mohammad who will tell them everything (i.e the many thing that Jesus did not complete) but not to search for him yet as his time had not come.

Because Jesus prophesied when he was here on the end of days. That's really the only reason why he's called a prophet. In Christianity Jesus is the Son of God.

Muslims have been cheated by quran and Muhammad, who was cheated by satan who appeared in the form of an angel.

God never revealed to Md. Only an angel or satan gave Md satanic verses.

    God has the Son Jesus.

    They're delusional.

Christ is the Son of God.

Edit: No; forgiveness of sins only work if you're TRULY SORRY! God knows what your intent is, he's not some stupid deity who'll forgive you unconditionally. i.e. meaning you are really trying to avoid sin with all your strength and not just sorry for Heaven.

Because acknowledging Jesus as the Son Of God would possibly ruin their religion. It's safe to say that Jesus was a prophet for them.
