Army Reserve commitments?
I'm in a band with a gig on 15th December, however our drummer cannot attend as he has a Christmas party for the army reserves on the same night. He said it is compulsory and must attend. Is this true? Is it compulsory that he attends, or is there a way to get out of it because of prior commitments?
Thanks :)

The only way that he would have to attend is if it fell on a drill weekend. Even then, if he has made all or most of his drills for the year, he can skip a few drills and still have a good year towards retirement points. Hope this helps.
